2014's Shadow of Mordor sequel "Middle Earth: Shadow of War" is officially confirmed by Warner Bros. A trailer was launched that features the game's characters as well as some details of the story.

The announcement for "Middle Earth: Shadow of War" was made official after a leak from Target was spotted by a NeoGAF user. Following the leak, a trailer and some features of the game was also discussed. Although the trailer didn't show any gameplay footage (a release of some gameplay footage is announced for Mar 8) the video did give a lot of information regarding the game as reported by Kotaku.

The trailer starts with "Middle Earth: Shadow of War's" protagonist Talion forging a new Ring of Power in the fires of Mt. Doom. An explosion caused by Talion hammering the new Ring resulted in Celembrimbor separating from his human host. Players may have to find Celembrimbor through the course of the game which means that some of Talion's powers will be inaccessible.

The trailer also shows various enemies that the player will face in "Middle Earth: Shadow of War." The enemies include Sauron with his Nazgul and the Balrog.

"Middle Earth: Shadow of War" will of course bring back the Nemesis System which separated the first game from the various third person open world action games that seem to be the trend in video games. It will be interesting how Monolith Productions will expand on their innovative system that other games have also imitated.

Moreover, the new Nemesis System for "Middle Earth: Shadow of War" will feature a new element called "Followers" according to a report from GameSpot. The "Followers" will be new characters that will add entirely new stories of betrayal, loyalty and revenge.

"Middle Earth: Shadow of War" developer Monolith Productions promises a richer, more personal and expansion world for the sequel. Gamers can expect to see new heroes and villains as well as iconic locations, new enemy types, more personalities and a new cast of memorable characters with stories to tell.

"Middle Earth: Shadow of War" is scheduled for release on Aug 22 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Stay tuned for more updates.
