The Oklahoma City Thunders is reportedly looking to trade for Wilson Chandler. According to reports, the OCK Thunders is among a number of NBA Western Conference teams who are interested in a Wilson Chandler trade.
According to Sports Illustrated, a number of Western Conference contenders are exploring a possible Wilson Chandler trade scenario. The Houston Rockets has reportedly also inquired with the Denver Nuggets about Chandler, however, with the recent Lou Williams trade, the Rockets may no longer be interested in the deal.
Chris Haynes of ESPN has reported Houston's interest for the Denver forward. According to CBSSports, the Los Angeles Clippers and OKC Thunders are also pushing for a Wilson Chandler trade deal.
The versatile guard-forward is currently averaging 15.6ppg and has made 45.4% of his shot attempts. Chandler's current point average is two points higher than his 13.9ppg career average.
According to Forbes, the OKC Thunders seems to be emerging as the top suitor to get the services of Chandler. Given that the OKC team is currently in need of additional scorers, trading for Chandler may actually be a logical move for the Thunders.
OKC's current starting lineup relies heavily on Russell Westbrook to either make the score or facilitate their offense. The Thunders' reserve also has a big hole in terms of offensive power.
Chandler has proven himself to be an efficient scorer with a respectable touch from the perimeter. With his range and athleticism, Chandler may be able to space out the driving lanes for Westbrook or even create his own basket.
Also, the versatile 6ft 8 guard - forward can play three positions without really giving away anything. Chandler can play the role of a stretch four in an OKC starting lineup that will feature, Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, Andre Roberson, Chandler and Steven Adams.
Trading for Wilson Chandler makes a lot of sense for the OKC Thunders not only in terms of Basketball but also financially. The $25million owed to Chandler for two seasons can be considered a bargain.
