Should Boston Celtics Trade Isaiah Thomas? Celtics Pursuing Paul George And Jimmy Butler

An intriguing NBA trade suggestion involving Boston Celtics' top scorer Isaiah Thomas has just surfaced online. The report suggests that the Celtics trade their 5ft 9 scoring dynamo.

According to FoxSports, the Boston Celtics should consider trading Isaiah Thomas while his stock is at its highest. The report also suggests that Thomas' stock is probably at the highest it will ever be.

The Boston Celtics' fate is tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers. So long as LeBron's team is as good as they are right now, Boston's dreams of making the NBA finals may never come to fruition.

Thomas may have been the catalyst of Boston's current successful run but his scoring alone will not help the Celtics make the NBA finals. His questionable defense is simply masked by his offense efficiency.

According to NESN, Danny Ainge is currently pursuing a trade with Indiana Pacers to get Paul George and the Chicago Bulls to acquire Jimmy Butler. George and Butler are arguably the best players on their teams and going after them would require offering another franchise player.

Thomas' scoring average this season is better than both Butler and George. Thomas is currently averaging close to 30 points per game this season. However, Butler and George are not only known to have the ability to carry a team offensively but are also known for being good perimeter defenders.

Right now, the Celtics is currently linked with trade chatters involving the names of Balke Griffin, DeMarcus Cousins, Carmelo Anthony and Paul Milsap. This, of course, is aside from the Butler and George trade talks.

Isiah Thomas may have been the brightest spot in Boston Celtics' current winning ways. However, going after any of the other players, especially Butler, George or Melo, in exchange for Thomas may not also be a bad idea. With the Feb. 23 trade deadline drawing closer, the Celtics are now on the clock.
