Tom Brady cemented his legacy as the greatest ever at Super Bowl LI when he led the New England Patriots to their fifth championship against the Atlanta Falcons. However, his game worn jersey was stolen after the game and police valued it at $500,000.

According to TMZ Sports, the Houston Police Department has valued Brady's stolen jersey at half a million dollars. The crime is considered as a first-degree felony and the case is being investigated by the Major Offenders - Police Impersonator/Swindle Unit.

Besides the Houston PD, the case is also being investigated by the NFL and Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who assigned the Texas Rangers on it. The document obtained by TMZ Sports noted that Brady is listed as the victim and his stolen property was valued at $500,000.

The police also confirmed that the case is still open and there are still no suspects or developments as of this writing. The jersey does not only have a huge monetary value but it's very important for the NFL. Brady wore the jersey to lead the Patriots in the largest comeback in Super Bowl history.

In an appearance on The Kirk and Callahan Show after the Super Bowl, Brady recalled the moment he noticed that his Super Bowl LI jersey was stolen right inside his bag at the Patriots locker room. He noted that he was disappointed that it was stolen and the same thing happened to him two years ago.

"Someone stole my jersey. I put it in my bag and I went in to take my eye black off, and they had opened up to, I don't know, the media. I walked back to my bag, and it was gone. Same thing happened two years ago. That sucks, but, oh well," Brady said.

The stolen jersey has more value than four of Brady's New England teammates' base salaries, per Spotrac. Offensive linebacker Trevor Bates, offensive tackle Chase Faris, defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton and wide receiver Devin Lucien all have a base salary of just $465,000 for next season.
