After expressing his intentions of playing for his country, Detroit Pistons' center Boban Marjanovic is excited to see his team compete for a spot for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China. The Serbian giant said in an interview that he is just waiting for their coach to contact him and he will gladly answer the call for his country's sake

With the EuroBasket approaching in a few months, Serbia is part of the Group E that will play in Istanbul. Based on the FIBA groupings, they are the same bracket with Luol Deng and Great Britain, Russia with VTB League All-Star Three-Point King Sergey Karasev, Kristaps Porzingis and his Latvian squad, Turkey with Sixers' Ersan Ilyasova, and Matt Lojeski's Belgium.

Despite being not named to the line-up that played in the Olympics as reported by Eurohoops, the 7-foot-3 behemoth insisted that he has no ill feelings with his coach Sasa Djordjevic for not including him in the list. However, he is keeping his lines open for a possible inclusion.

"I hope so. I hope to be there. It depends... it Sasa Djordjevic. If he calls me or not. If he calls me, I'll be there. I'm available," said the 28-year old Pistons' pivot guy. He also praised their team captain Milos Teodosic, even described him as a great player who can bring his talents everywhere and excel.

After his contract expired with the San Antonio Spurs, he accepted a three-year offer from Detroit worth $21 million. According to a report from Business Insider, he took the offer with Coach Gregg Popovich's consent, saying that $21 million is so far from the $3 million that the Spurs is offering him.

With his current stint with the Pistons, he only played 23 games so far this season, only averaging 3.7 points and 3.3 boards in 6.9 minutes per outing. His team is currently 8th in the Eastern Conference carrying a 27-30 card.
