LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant averaged 1.4 steals per game in his 20 seasons in the NBA and that's what his fans should try to emulate in playing good defense in basketball. That, however, isn't supposed to be used with the superstar's memorabilia in the Black Mamba's alma mater in Pennsylvania.

Based on the reports from Philly, Lower Merion High School sent emails to the parents of students studying at the school that numerous Kobe Bryant's memorabilia have been stolen. The school created "Kobe's Shrine" that holds important artifacts, including the state championship trophy that the Aces won in 1996 with the then 17-year old senior high school Bryant.

Even if the stolen items doesn't have monetary value, Lower Merion's Director of Community Relations Doug Young said that they are important because it represents wonderful memories. Young, coincidentally, is also Kobe's high school teammate.

Some of the items that were stolen were the state championship trophy with the net, several pairs of Nike sneakers signed by Kobe himself and his framed high school jersey according to ABC News. Young confirmed that the framed jersey is just a replica and not the actual jersey that the 18-time NBA all-star used during his younger years.

A surveillance video was released by the Lower Merion Police District showing two unidentified men who busted the lock of the shrine. The two suspects are fully covered, wearing black jackets and a bonnet, and is seen carrying a black bag where they put the stolen items in.

Current Lower Merion coach Gregg Downer mentioned that he made the two-time NBA scoring champion about the incident and didn't say too much. "He's still trying to process things," he added.

Kobe, son of former NBA player Joe "Jellybean" Bryant, ended his high school basketball career, scoring 2, 883 points. That scoring stat even outscored both Wilt Chamberlain and Lionel Simmons.A gym built in December 2010 was named after him, naming it as the "Kobe Bryant Gymnasium", where outside of it is the shrine where the stolen memorabilia were placed.
