Trade rumors start to swirl around again for Minnesota Timberwolves' point guard Ricky Rubio. Latest buzz is saying the Philadelphia 76ers are said to be going after him and would like to add him to their roster to further boost up their chances of making it in the postseason while it is still early.

Currently, the 76ers are at the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference division holding a 16-27 win-loss record but they still a big chance of gunning for a playoff spot having won 7 out of their last 10 games this January. What's remarkable on those wins is their able to beat top-seeded teams like the Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets and playoff contending teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Portland Trail Blazers and just one player away from being competitive to other teams.

Meanwhile, Rubio has been linked to numerous trade deals as of late. Ever since Timberwolves new head coach Tom Thibodeau uses rookie point guard Kris Dunn as a starter, Rubio's name becomes a regular figure in the rumor mills that heats up speculation that he will be traded by the team. And one report already floated this kind of scenario just recently.

According to CBSSports, the Minnesota Timberwolves are said to be "actively shopping" Ricky Rubio and might trade before the trade deadline ends. Aside from him, guard/forward Shabazz Muhammad is also being attached with Rubio as trade offers to other teams that are interested.

The report also says that the Timberwolves are looking for a bridge guard who is willing to mend as a backup in short term and ready to give way for Dunn as the primary playmaker for the team. And it looks like the Philadelphia 76ers have the asset they are searching for.

According to The Sixer Sense, the 76ers could be one possible suitor for Rubio if ever the Minnesota Timberwolves are serious about trading the 26-year old Spaniard. And the Philadelphia 76ers could offer Sergio Rodriguez to the Timberwolves for Ricky Rubio.

Like Rubio, Rodriguez is a decent playmaker who can be perfectly fit as a backup to Dunn, which is what they are looking for, aside from he is more cheaper than Rubio. Meanwhile, Rubio is an ideal point guard for the 76ers who is smart and a great passer and can orchestrate their offense easily.

Are the Philadelphia 76ers really determined to add Minnesota Timberwolves' point guard Ricky Rubio?
