The Los Angeles Lakers seems to be on disarray in the ongoing regular season. Some observed that D'Angelo Russell is not clicking anymore being the point guard of the team and they should find a true point guard that could orchestrate their offense. Now, recent report suggest that they might acquire Ricky Rubio from the Minnesota Timberwolves in order to solve this problem.

After a hot start in the first two weeks of the season, the Lakers now find themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference division holding a 16-32 win-loss record. Many believed that the Lakers' young core is not effective anymore most especially Russell who seems to be not efficient playing the point and the Lakers should maximize his potential being a natural shooting guard.

Meanwhile, Rubio has been in the hot seat of rumor mills since the start of the regular season. After bringing some brilliance at the start of his career in 2011, he suddenly slows down this season together with his production. Recent reports are now saying that Timberwolves appears to be decided on trading the 26-year old Spaniard.

According to CBS Sports, the Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to trade Ricky Rubio before the trade deadline ends. This notion came after Rubio plays inconsistently as of late which is said to be the reason behind the big dip on his production.

And since Timberwolves new president of basketball operation and head coach Tom Thibodeau appears to have a replacement for Rubio in rookie point guard Kris Dunn, exploring a trade for Rubio could be a plausible option for them. And now, one report recommends that the Los Angeles Lakers should consider of adding Rubio to lead the backcourt for them.

According to The Inquisitr, some Lakers' fans have already thought of moving Russell to the shooting guard spot where he can play effectively and leave the playmaking chores to a veteran point guard. And it looks like Rubio could be a perfect fit on that role.

Rubio is well-known to be a pass first point guard that will surely compliment D'Angelo Russell at the shooting guard spot as per stated in the report. He can also play well alongside Julius Randle and help Randle develop his pick and roll game in the process. Aside from the assists, Rubio will also aid the Lakers in defense as he have career average of 2.2 steals per game.
