Trade rumors starts to swirl around Rudy Gay as of late. Many believed that it is a matter of time that the Sacramento Kings will offer him to a trade. And as the trade deadline is fast approaching, gossips are saying that he could possibly be heading to the Orlando Magic in the coming days.

The Magic have one of the best acquisitions in the offseason. They were able to acquire Serge Ibaka by a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder while Bismack Biyombo, Jeff Green and D.J. Augustin was signed by the team as a free agent. However, the addition of the players mentioned doesn't do wonders for them.

On the other hand, Gay have been a familiar name in the rumor mills since last summer. His name is frequently being mentioned to many trade deals as one potential target for numerous teams. He already stated in the offseason that he will opt out in his final contract with the Kings and find a scenery on his career.

And now, one report have suggested possible trade targets to the Kings for Gay. According to A Royal Pain, since the Sacramento Kings are fully aware that Gay will not pick up his player option after this season, it was recommended to trade him and get a player that they needed. And it seems that the Orlando Magic have the asset they are looking for.

Trade scenario is suggesting that the Kings will send forward Rudy Gay and guard Ben McLemore to the Magic in exchange for guard Elfrid Payton, guard Mario Hezonja and forward Jeff Green. The trade could change the fortune of both teams on their current campaign this season and also their future.

The Kings are searching for an upgrade in the point guard spot and Payton will be an ideal fit for them. Though Payton has not yet established his name, he has the potential to become a good playmaker and can be developed along the way while Green and Hezonja will be an added depth to the Kings' roster.

On the other hand, Gay is what the Magic team is looking for, a great offensive shooter. He will definitely aid the Magic slumping offense while McLemore could finally find his career heading on a right direction in Orlando. The trade will also work under NBA trade and salary cap rules making it a legal deal for both teams as verified with ESPN NBA Trade Machine.
