Akai Pro launched the MPC Live, MPC X Music Production Centre and MPC 2.0 Music Production Software with new features and new studio production, live and performance capabilities. The company has also released official videos of the MPC Live and MPC X.

According to DJ MAG, the new Akai MPC Live comes with a full-color 7-inch multi-touch screen, four touch-capacitive Q-Link controls, 16 responsive velocity and pressure-sensitive RGB pads,and a large, master encoder knob. Also, reported that the MPC Live is made with multi-core processing technology, 2GB of RAM and an expandable 16GB of on-board storage.

The MPC Live can run under battery powered operation via the internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It is also reported that MPC Live allow users to edit waveforms, as well as programming the step sequencer; record, sequence & edit audio/MIDI live and apply XY FX in real-time, all aided by the iPad style touch screen.

Looking on to the other device, MPC X, it is a device featuring full-color 10.1" multi-touch screen display, 16 responsive, velocity and pressure-sensitive RGB pads all fuelled by a multi-core processor that powers the MPC Software 2.0. Also, the device is included with menu buttons, a large master encoder knob and 16 touch-sensitive 360º assignable pots (Q-Links) with adaptive OLED display.

MPC X offers various connectivity options like the A 2-in/4-out MIDI interface connect to controllers and MIDI compatible sound modules, drum machines and synthesizers, providing core sequencing and control capability, Input and outputs such as XLR, ¼-inch jack, 1/8-inch jack & RCA, studio-grade audio capture, direct / hardware monitoring options and switchable phantom-power.

MPC Software 2.0 is capable of running natively on the MPC X in standalone mode,. It is also reported that the MPC Software 2.0 can run from a Mac or PC as a plug-in in all popular DAWs. As per the report, it is extremely powerful music production software.

According to FACT, Akai has also given the MPC Live and MPC X to producers such as Zaytoven and Bryan-Michael Cox. It is reported that the new devices MPC Live and MPC X will be available at a price tag of $1,199 and $2,199 respectively.
