Celtic F.C. manager Ronny Deila negatively commented on midfielder Kris Commons' response to being replaced following a loss against Molde FK.
Commons raged towards the Celtic coaching staff after forward Nadir Ciftci replaced him in the 3-1 defeat against Molde. In his interview with BBC, Deila said that he and the players were a team and he understood that players could feel frustrations at being substituted; however, showing such disappointments in that manner was not how they wanted to have it on the team.
Delia also told BBC that he had spoken to the midfielder. The manager also mentioned that it was not about giving punishment to people, but it was about understanding and about talking about how people react and how people behave.
Delia said he and the players was one unit and it was not about one player. He added that it was very discourteous and unacceptable to others. The Celtic manager understood that Commons had been irritated, as he had been taken off. For Delia, being annoyed was alright; however, it should have been done in a better way than Commons had done.
According to ESPN Asia, Commons had pulled back the lead in the 54th minute with a good goal, but then midfielder Mohamed Elyounoussi hot gotten back the lead for Molde. Overall, Celtic held Group A with two points in three games whereas Molde took the lead with seven points.
Meanwhile, Celtic's latest match was against Tippeligaen 7th placer team Molde at Aker Stadion on Oct. 23.
