Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's future in Europe is at the club where it all started. According to ESPN FC, Manchester United have rejected an enquiry from West Ham United for the 27-year-old. West Ham were strongly linked with the striker, desperately seeking to bolster their front line.

PSG Want Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani Swap

Per the report, however, United have told West Ham Hernandez is no longer for sale.

In light of Robin van Persie's departure to Fenerbahce, manager Louis van Gaal expressed his plans moving forward.

"At the time, we have to decide which strikers we could have at Manchester United," van Gaal said (via ESPN FC). "We have already four strikers: we have Welbeck, we have Chicharito [Hernandez], we have Van Persie, we have [James] Wilson. Then I have to make a decision that I let go Chicharito and Welbeck because I have bought also Falcao. When you play a system with two strikers or one striker, then you [have to] make decisions and I let Chicharito go."

Real Madrid Pressure David De Gea

"But now he is coming back."

Prior to van Gaal's arrival—and even that of David Moyes—Hernandez proved to be an effective striker for Sir Alex Ferguson. In his first three seasons at Old Trafford, the Mexican international managed 33 league goals in addition to six assists.

With his confidence renewed after breaking through at Real Madrid and a renewed faith from his boss, all signs point to a resurgent Hernandez in Manchester.
