Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has formally announced from the club after this season. The Belgian worldwide, who has characterized City's golden age under Pep Guardiola, broke the emotional news through a moving post on social media.

With his contract set to expire, the 33-year-old will conclude a legendary 10-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.

De Bruyne's next move is yet to be confirmed, but sources suggest he's eyeing a transfer to Major League Soccer, despite San Diego reportedly passing on a deal. Saudi Arabian clubs have shown interest, but De Bruyne appears to favor a new chapter in the United States.

De Bruyne Will Go Down as One of Manchester City's Greats

Sports World News spotted De Bruyne's post on his official X account. After the announcement, fans thanked him for his contribution to the club.

Since signing for City from Wolfsburg in 2015 for a then-club-record £55 million, De Bruyne has become one of the Premier League's all-time great playmakers. According to the BBC, he has won 16 trophies since becoming an MCFC midfielder. Before that, he was a Wolfsburg player in the Bundesliga.

In his decade at Manchester, De Bruyne has contributed to the club winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups, and a UEFA Champions League title.

He also totaled 106 goals and 174 assists in 413 games, cementing himself as a City legend.

A Master of Assists and Honors

De Bruyne sits atop the records for most Manchester City Premier League assists with 115, one more than City legends such as David Silva. His 118 league assists place him second behind only Ryan Giggs in all-time Premier League history.

Some of his notable trophies include 2x Premier League Player of the Season, 5x PFA Premier League Team of the Year, and 5x FIFA FIFPRO World 11 pick.

No other player has tallied more Premier League assists since he joined in 2015, with Mohamed Salah's 85 being well behind him.

Guardiola Hails De Bruyne's Legacy

Pep Guardiola, who took De Bruyne from Manuel Pellegrini, described the Belgian's huge contribution on and off the field.

Guardiola said that Kevin's humanity and vision made him special. He added that the club's success would be impossible to picture without him.
