France's all-time top scorer was honored at Stade de France over the weekend as the country paid tribute to Olivier Giroud and his successful soccer career.

The tribute took place before the UEFA Nations League quarter-final second-leg soccer match between his country and Croatia.

Giroud, who currently plays for Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer (MLS), holds the record of 57 goals for the country's men's soccer team.

Giroud was joined by his family as the crowd in attendance expressed their gratitude to the country's best-scoring soccer player. Giroud has 137 caps for the national team.

France's soccer national team also took to social media to celebrate the player, who has already retired from international competition.

Olivier Giroud's Career

Giroud began his career as a senior player in 2005, playing for French football club Grenoble. He then played for the likes of Istres, Tours, and Montpellier before he joined English soccer club Arsenal, where he scored 73 goals in 180 appearances. He likewise won three FA Cups with the Gunners.

However, it was with Chelsea Football Club that Giroud was able to lift the UEFA Champions League. He likewise won the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League, having been named the top scorer of the latter for 2019.

Giroud then moved to AC Milan and stayed in Italy for three years before making the shift to the United States to play for the Los Angeles FC.
