The pressure is on Brendan Rodgers to deliver a winner in 2015. The Liverpool boss—looking to bolster his squad—has already acquired Danny Ings, James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne this summer. But the trio isn't nearly potent enough to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title.

Below is an update on all the latest transfer rumors surrounding Anfield.

Christian Benteke

One of the premier strikers on Liverpool's radar remains Christian Benteke. According to the Express, the Belgian international is being closely monitored by Liverpool; however, the Reds are unwilling to meet Villa's £32.5 million valuation.

Transfer negotiations are set to continue this week, but Aston Villa have already taken it upon themselves to use Benteke in their latest kit launch, with the hope being the 24-year-old stays another year.

Asier Illarramendi

Unlike Manchester United, Liverpool have turned a less-than-delusional eye on Real Madrid. According to the Mirror, the club has tabled a second offer for Asier Illarramendi. A £10.6 million bid was rejected, but sources close to Madrid say the club has now received an offer of £15 million plus add-ons.

Raheem Sterling

Possibly funding the two aforementioned moves is the sale of Raheem Sterling, something former player John Aldridge is in agreement with.

"I think Brendan Rodgers should let Raheem Sterling leave for Manchester City now," he wrote on Kicca (via the Express). "The sooner he leaves, the better for all involved. All this transfer talk is making a mockery of Liverpool Football Club. Raheem is obviously a hugely talented player, but Liverpool have a top replacement in Jordon Ibe."
