The Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos have had a bit of a rivalry for a couple of seasons now. Obviously, their biggest showdown came when they met in the Super Bowl, but other matchups have offered plenty of intriguing storylines.

One of the main stories that people like to talk about when Seattle and Denver face off is Peyton Manning against Russell Wilson. It is the old guard versus the new, the statuesque pocket passer against the improvisational wizard. The narrative practically writes itself, and it does not hurt that Manning and Wilson are among the most popular players in the NFL.

According to The Denver Post, Manning has once again gone down to Wilson, this time in a form of a popularity contest. The NFL released its rankings for the top-selling players in terms of merchandising, and Wilson finished first, narrowly edging out Manning, who was second.

It is the second consecutive year that Wilson and Manning have finished one and two in the rankings, and in that order.

The rankings are released quarterly by the marketing arm of the NFL Players Association, and they are based on total overall sales of officially licensed products from March 1, 2014 through Feb. 28, 2015.

Fellow quarterbacks Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick, and Aaron Rodgers round out the top five.
