Eugenie Bouchard worked wonders with coach Nick Saviano in 2014. Now, Sloane Stephens want to find out what Saviano can do for her.

Tennis.com reported that Stephens, the American former teen phenom, has hired Saviano as her coach. Saviano coached Bouchard for eight years, starting when she was 12 years old.

Stephenson currently is the No 36-ranked player in the world. The 21-year-old, who in part represents the future of American tennis, reached a high of No. 11 in October of 2013, having advanced to the semifinals of Australian Open that year.

According to tennis.com, Stephens struggled to a 21-20 record in 2014 and suffered a wrist injury during the summer that ultimately forced her to shut down her season in September.

In 2014, Saviano helped the 20-year-old Bouchard reach the semifinals or better in three Grand Slam tournaments in 2014. Bouchard reached the finals at Wimbledon before losing to Petra Kvitova. Bouchard also reached the semifinals at the Australian Open and the French Open.

Bouchard started 2014 ranked as the No. 31 player in the world but vaulted all the way to No. 5 before settling at No. 7 at the end of the year with Saviano.

Saviano issued a statement through a statement posted on his tennis academy's website at the end of November, discussing the split from Bouchard, as reported by CBC Sports.

"Genie and I have decided that it is best for us to end our player-coach relationship and to move in different directions for 2015," Saviano said. "This past year travelling with Genie to all of the majors has been a wonderful experience with memories I will cherish for a lifetime."

Stephens also has worked with Paul Annacone and former Maria Sharapova coach Thomas Hogstedt.
