The Las Vegas sportsbook has released their projected wins for the NBA season and there is no surprise as to who is on top.

The new look Cleveland Cavaliers are on top of the projected wins as Las Vegas has them at 58.5 wins for the 2014-15 campaign. Head NBA oddsmaker for the SuperBook, Jeff Sherman said that the improvements that the Cavaliers made over the offseason has warranted their wins projection.

"The Cavs' number was made with their new team in relation to the East and past years' numbers that we used for the Heat," said Sherman. "Their number is slightly lower than Heat's in the LeBron years, with this being the Cavs' new players first year together.”

The Cavaliers benefit from the return of LeBron James and later traded for All-Star Kevin Love to form a new “Big Three” in Cleveland. The Cavaliers were projected for 40.5 wins last season by the Las Vegas sportsbook, but Cleveland went 33-49.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (57.5), defending champion San Antonio Spurs (56.5), Chicago Bulls (55.5), Los Angeles Clippers (55.5) and Golden State Warriors (50.5) round out the NBA teams that are projected to win 50 or more games. The Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors are all on the cusp at 49.5 projected wins.

The Indiana Pacers had the biggest drop from 2013-14 to 2014-15 as they are projected for 32.5 wins down from 52.5. The Philadelphia 76ers are at the bottom of the barrel as they are projected to win a mere 15.5 games.

Westgate is the first Nevada sportsbook to release NBA win totals for the 2014-15 season and the preseason begins on Saturday.
