Rajon Rondo underwent surgery Friday on his broken left hand and now the Celtics point guard revealed how he suffered the injury.

Rondo spoke to with Rich Shertenlieb of the Toucher & Rich program on 98.5 the Sports Hub and said that he suffered the injury while he was singing a Luther Vandross song in the shower.

“Rich Shertenlieb: Tell us about how you got your little friend right there... your sling.
Rajon Rondo: Late night singing in the shower, didn't go so well. Slipped.
Rich Shtenlieb: Which song were you singing
Rajon Rondo: 'If This World Was Mine.' Luther Vandross.”

Rondo is out six to eight weeks due to the injury and addressed the situation again at the Celtics' media day. Rondo joked about the way he hurt himself and said he is trying to stay positive in a tough situation.

"Certain falls happen and you slip, and I slipped and tried to catch my hand. It wasn't like a banana [peel] slip. I actually almost caught myself. I landed on my knuckle on the windowsill in my home. That's what happened.”

Rondo is the Celtics' best player and is set to be a free agent at the end of the 2014-15 season. Rumors have swirled concerning Rondo since the start of the offseason and most of them include the point guard being traded out of town. Rondo hinted that he would like to stay with the Celtics during the Boston media day, but it is too soon to know where the All-Star will play after this season.
