Detroit Lions linebacker Stephen Tulloch will miss the rest of the season after injuring himself during a celebratory sack dance.

Tulloch tore his ACL after celebrating a sack of Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers and will be placed on injured reserve following the Lions' 19-7 win Sunday. Tulloch spoke about the injury and said he was in the heat of the moment and that he will come back better than ever.

"It's unfortunate, man," he said Sunday. "You're passionate about the game. You want to get up and celebrate, and it happened. People do it a million times. Unfortunately it happened to me, but I've been healthy for nine years in my career, never missed a game, let alone damn near plays.

"Sitting on the sideline is new to me, man. It's sickening. But I'll be all right. I'll get right and be able to help this team.”

Tulloch had played in 131 straight regular-season games since being drafted in the fourth-round of the 2006 NFL draft out of North Carolina State by the Tennessee Titans. The Lions will move outside linebacker DeAndre Levy to middle linebacker in light of the injury as Levy replaced Tulloch in the game Sunday.

Tulloch has 806 tackles and 13.5 sacks in his career, including 135 tackles last season.
