The NFL’s and NFLPA are finalizing a new policy on substance abuse and performance-enhancing drugs that will allow many suspended players to be reinstated immediately, Cleveland.com reported on Friday.
However, Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon won't be among them. That's not necessarily bad news for Cleveland fans.
Gordon is expected to have his yearlong suspension reduced to 10 games. After sitting out the first two games this season, the NFLPA announced that if Gordon is convicted Nov. 18 or enters a plea agreement on a charge of driving while impaired in Raleigh, N.C., two games will be added to his suspension, according to Ohio.com.

Gordon will also be able to workout at the Browns’ facility during the suspension when the deal gets approved. The Browns sit at 1-1 after winning in improbable fashion against the surprise 0-2 New Orleans Saints.

Despite playing in only 14 games, Gordon caught 87 balls for a league high 1646 yards with nine touchdowns. Gordon is seen as one of the brightest young stars in the NFL, but his frequent off the field issues could cut that promising career short.
