Beware twitter faithful Adarn Schefter has struck twitter and might have caused some routine maintenance. Within the last two hours there was a report by Adam Schefter that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Atlanta Falcons.
NFL Free Agency Predictions: Secondary and Revis
Is a Revis Return to New York Imminent?
Twitter went into a frenzy and coincidently went into routine maintenance soon after. The twist here is that both the report and who reported it were fakes. The account @AdarnSchefter, now either deleted or removed, tweeted out the news and watched the chaos ensued. It’s unclear how many retweets and favorites the doppleganger Schefter account got, but it did reach some of the more iconic reporters and writers around the NFL.
Among the writers duped were SI’s Peter King and possibly Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller.
My apologies. Fake Schefter. My bad.

The #Falcons haven't traded for Revis. That's a fake Adam Schefter account. — Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) March 11, 2014
Other than the professionals who got temporarily tricked, other people in the Twitter-verse had some classic reactions.
