The heat around Colin Kaepernick's career and immediate future at NFL are getting bigger and bigger, with player's supporters claiming that he has been blackballed by the NFL team owners and on the other hand, people against Kaepernick are questioning his abilities as a player.
There have been speculations ringing around Kaepernick's future and every person related to the story are giving their own opinions regarding this issue. Dan Graziano of ESPN points out that the convergence of many events at a time has affected player's chances of getting hired by any team.
Currently, the situation in NFL for the quarterbacks isn't very good, there are many teams who do not want a starting or backup quarterback. With Kaepernick demanding around $9M to $10M, chances of him getting acquired gets bleaker as teams do not want to pay very high amounts for a player in that position.
To add to this, Kaepernick just doesn't want to be hired to a team where he sits on the bench, he wants to be a regular starter and challenge for his place in the team. He has asked for around $10M which fits for a backup quarterback on high-end or a very low-end starter.
As of the current situation in the NFL draft, if Kaepernick gets the job he will be a lucky man. The Texans, Jets, Browns and 49ers are the teams in need of a quarterback but obviously, 49ers won't take him as the player himself opted out of his contract there.
The possibility of a move to Jets is also very minute for Kaepernick as the team's owner is a very conservative man with who is very friendly with country's current administration under Donald Trump. President Trump himself has recently made fiery comments about Kaepernick's kneel down decision he employed last season in NFL during the national anthem.
It is quite a peculiar situation for a player who was once a few years back regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in NFL, certain incidents taking place at the same as well as wrong time to make it very bad for the player, reputation has gone down drastically as a player and he may not play well even if he gets hired by a team.
