Throughout this season at the NBA, Brooklyn Nets have struggled to protect leads when it mattered the most. Their inability to defend when needed, especially away from home have complied up to being NBA's worst record.

In their previous game, with Brook Lopez and Jeremy Lin at the top of their game, they answered all the challenge thrown at them by Atlanta Hawks. Lopez managed to score 23 points as the Nets beat Hawks 107-92 on Sunday to hand Atlanta to their seventh straight loss in the league, getting worse for them. In their defense, Hawks were without three starters including Paul Millsap.

In the first half, Nets were in a commanding position taking a 22 point lead. Atlanta came back in the game and got only five points behind in the second half before Nets regrouped again and managed to cross over the line for only their sixth win on the road this season.

Lopez revealed the whole team was very happy they could manage to hold on to the lead this time around. Earlier in the season, Nets might well have folded later in the game but against the Hawks, they were resilient and had the composure to manage the game situation. This win showed they have improved since the start of the season, said a happy Lopez.

Jeremy Lin also played a major part in this win with 19 points and eight assists for the Nets. This is the kind of performance fans waited for from their star man who has been in and out of the side due to several injury issues.

This is Nets' third win of four and currently are 7-8 in March, a much-improved month for them. Lopez meanwhile became the Nets' career leader with a 10-foot jumper five minutes before from the end. He passes Buck Williams in the process.
