Aaron Rodgers still has a heavy heart stemming from his poor play in the Green Bay Packers' 23-20 season-ending loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in NFC wild-card playoff game.

"The team expects greatness out of me every week," Rodgers said Tuesday on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show. "They didn't get it on Sunday, so I'm disappointed about that."

Playing in just his second game since missing seven weeks with a broken collarbone, Rodgers threw for just 177 yards against the Niners, his lowest passing numbers since Week 14 of the 2012 season.

"We're always going to look on offense what we could've done better," Rodgers told ESPN. "If you would've told our offense before the game the defense was going to hold them to 23 points, I think everybody in there would've said we're going to win that game."

The Packers have now won just one playoff game in four tries since their Super Bowl XLV victory in 2008.

"We just need a couple more pieces," the 30-year-old Rodgers told ESPN, adding he plans to attack his offseason workouts so that he can come back in "phenomenal shape."

Some have speculated Rodgers mental state may have been a factor in the Packers loss to the Niners. All week long, the Green Bay quarterback was dogged by allegations he once engaged in a gay relationship with former roommate and assistant Kevin Lanflisi.

Rodgers, who is reportedly engaged to model Destiny Newton, has vehemently denied the claims.
