Von Miller tore the ACL in his left knee during the Denver Broncos 37-13 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday and will miss the rest of the season.
According to ESPN, the linebacker suffered the injury midway through the third quarter and underwent an MRI on Monday that confirmed the extent of the injury. A two time Pro Bowl selection, Miller now faces an exhaustive rehab regimen that is expected to keep him out of the team's offseason program and at least part of next summer's training camp.
Overall, Miller played in just nine games for the Broncos this season after being suspended for the first six for a violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
Miller, who had to be helped to the sidelines by teammates, finishes the season with 33 tackles and five sacks, tying him for second on the team in that department.
Denver (12-3) closes its regular season against the Oakland Raiders and could clinch home-field advantage in the AFC with a victory.The Broncos clinched the AFC West and a first-round playoff bye with the win over the Texans.
