WWE continues to honor its iconic superstars, and this time, a fan-favorite from the Divas Era is back in the spotlight.

Kelly Kelly, one of the most recognizable faces of WWE's women's division in the 2000s, has reportedly signed a WWE Legends contract, marking a major return to the company, at least in legacy form.

What Is a WWE Legends Contract?

According to Fightful Select, multiple sources confirmed that Kelly Kelly has reportedly signed a WWE Legends Contract.

A WWE Legends contract is a niche contract that enables past wrestling stars to continue earning money off their time in the squared circle. The contracts usually grant WWE exclusive rights to use the star's image on merchandise, action figures, video games, and promotional material. In exchange, the legends earn royalties and occasionally appear at WWE events.

This means that Kelly Kelly's brand will remain visible to WWE fans. She will profit from her legacy without periodically entering the ring.

Kelly Kelly's WWE Career Highlights

Born Barbara Blank, Kelly Kelly made her WWE debut in 2006, initially signing with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), the former developmental territory of WWE. She soon found herself transitioning to the ECW brand and established herself as a fixture of the WWE "Divas" era.

Her highlight came in June 2011 when she won the WWE Divas Championship by defeating Brie Bella, Sports Illustrated reports. Her title reign lasted only four months, ending with a defeat to Beth Phoenix at WWE Hell in a Cell.

Memorable Returns and Special Appearances

Though she was let go from her WWE contract in September 2012, Kelly Kelly made several surprise returns following her departure. She participated in the Women's Royal Rumble Matches of 2018, 2020, and 2022.

She also participated in the 20-Woman Battle Royal at the groundbreaking WWE Evolution pay-per-view in 2018, the company's first all-women's event.

Kelly Kelly's Career Outside the Ring

After parting ways with WWE full-time, Kelly Kelly has adopted several careers outside the ring. She's acted as a model, actress, and reality television personality, diversifying her marketability beyond professional wrestling. This diversification increases her worth under the Legends deal, allowing WWE to market her across several media.

Kelly Kelly Can't Be a Heel: Here's Why

In a recent interview with Fast Break's Byron Scott, Kelly Kelly said that she could never be a heel in her WWE career. She admitted that being herself was the greatest thing she could do.

"Kelly Kelly was me. It was me just 100 times more. That was the greatest thing, to just be myself. I could never have been a bad guy. I tried," the 38-year-old former wrestler said.
