Wrestling icon Mick Foley announced this week that he had been in a car crash. Some fans might think this is an April Fool's prank given that it happened in April, but that's not the case.

Foley, also known by his in-ring name "Mankind," was happy to survive the car crash. The retired wrestler revealed that, while he felt like he was "run over by a truck," he miraculously escaped with only soft tissue injuries. He is planning to hit the road again soon.

Foley went to Facebook and Instagram to inform his fans about his state after the accident. In his message, he recognized that the accident could have been worse but was thankful to have escaped relatively intact.

"The idea that someone would be in an accident like this and walk away with only soft tissue injury makes me feel like someone was looking out for me! Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes," Foley said.

Fans quickly sent Foley their best wishes, and the Hall of Famer even received visits from some of the greatest names in professional wrestling. WWE legends The Undertaker and Triple H, the Chief Content Officer of the company, both contacted him to see how he was doing.

Mick Foley Shuts Down April Fools' Speculation

Due to the timing of the news, some fans initially suspected that the accident was staged as part of a complex April Fools' prank—a common phenomenon in the wrestling world, where "works" (storylines) tend to obscure the truth from the viewer. Foley, however, guaranteed that the accident was indeed real.

In a video on his Instagram, he dispelled the rumors and attested that his injuries were real.

Foley Won't Be Missing Any Appearances

Even with the accident, Foley is as committed as ever to his fans. According to TMZ Sports, the 59-year-old assured everyone that he wouldn't be missing any of his future events. He even joked that even if his car won't hit the road again, he'll be on the road for fans.

Foley will visit Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Missouri for his upcoming tours this April.
