WWE fans can't believe that they have seen this week. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made his return to the squared circle, bringing his larger-than-life persona back to the ring. Known for his electrifying presence, his reappearance marks a key moment in wrestling entertainment's new era, especially following his recent involvement in the parent company, TKO Group Holdings.

As the promotion enters into a $5 billion Netflix partnership, Johnson's return triggers many emotions, reminding everyone why he remains one of the most iconic figures in sports entertainment.

The Rock's WWE Origins and Hollywood Takeover

Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as "The Rock," was first identified in WWE back in 1996. Entering the field as a raw rookie with a fresh face and aggressive drive, he quickly transformed himself into one of the most memorable wrestlers in history. His journey throughout the WWE Attitude Era was one where he became one of the popular fan favorites using his sharp-witted and electrifying charisma to eventually catapult him toward stardom.

The Rock had gained mass success in wrestling, and now he transitioned to Hollywood, becoming a global superstar in blockbuster films.

Although his Hollywood career soared, with barely any time for wrestling commitments, The Rock's influence in WWE was undeniable. He made several appearances over the years, but it wasn't until 2024, due to his new role on the Board of TKO (WWE's parent company), that he finally returned to the wrestling ring on a more considerable scale.

The Rock's Big Comeback in 2024

In 2024, WWE fans were thrilled to see The Rock back in action during WrestleMania in April. This was just the beginning of his involvement with the company as part of the massive $5 billion Netflix deal that brought WWE content to the streaming platform.

As part of the excitement, The Rock made his way onto Monday's episode of WWE Raw and delivered his brand of entertainment, both in front of the camera and behind it.

The Rock Returns to NXT

The WWE week for The Rock didn't go by on Monday. On Tuesday, he went to NXT. It was the second day it was airing outside the US, also on Netflix.

The visit was special since his daughter Ava now is the General Manager of NXT. The back-end interaction of Rock with his daughter Ava was so warm that the fans were just talking about it because Ava welcomed her father into her office for a much-needed and very talked-about exchange between them and the fans.

Rock's Promo Drama and Hilarious Moment

The moment The Rock stepped into the ring, he did what he did best—that was to keep the audience hooked on his unbelievable charisma. Yet, not everything was smooth.

While delivering his promo, Rock lost his train of thought momentarily, resulting in a small moment of silence in the ring. However, as he is wont to do, he got the crowd going, this time with his trademark "If you smell...!". The moment was a nod to his wrestling roots, where improvisation and crowd interaction are part of the charm.

Although some fans had a good laugh at the blunder, others quipped that The Rock must have kept his promo notes closer, as a nod to a legendary moment during his feud with John Cena in the 2010s.

Cena had mocked Rock for writing his promo on his wrist, making for endless internet memes and inside jokes.

Meanwhile, Sportskeeda reports that Ethan Page has some words after his confrontation with The Rock. The backstage segment was so intense that everyone did not see it coming.
