The New England Patriots barely escaped finishing the 2024 NFL season with the golden No. 1 pick into the 2025 NFL Draft as they defeated Buffalo Bills 23-16, landing them at number four, but this indirectly gave Tennessee Titans the golden pick.

Find out how things are shaping for these teams going into the 2025 draft.

Patriots' Final Win Shakes Up Draft Order

According to Yahoo! Sports, the New England Patriots, who had been in contention for the No. 1 pick for much of the season, won a hard-fought Week 18 game against the Buffalo Bills to finish the season with their fourth win, moving them up to the fourth overall pick in the 2025 draft.

However, the victory came at a cost for the head coach Jerod Mayo, who was fired within hours of the game. It sets the tone for significant change in New England's future in rebuilding.

Titans Benefit from Patriots' Victory

With the Patriots' move out of the No. 1 spot, the Tennessee Titans now sit at the top of the draft order.

The Titans, who finished the season with a disappointing 3-14 record, now have the opportunity to select the first player in the 2025 NFL Draft for the first time since 2016. This marks their first time holding the No. 1 overall pick since 1978 when they selected future Hall of Famer Earl Campbell.

It being a winless season for the Titans, this will give them a pick in April of all the best talents available, with their roster having much to improve, this may set the tone for the franchise.

Cleveland Browns, Giants Follow in Draft Order

After the Titans, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants conclude the list with both ending their seasons with 3-14 records. For the Browns, it gives an excellent opportunity to reconfigure their team. The Giants get ready to introduce an excellent player for them as this has been a horrible season for the Giants.
