Angel McCoughtry, a five-time WNBA All-Star and one of the league's most prolific scorers, is preparing for a comeback. At 38, the basketball icon is defying expectations and pushing past the limits often placed on athletes her age.

Even though her last stint with the Minnesota Lynx was short-lived, McCoughtry is ready to prove that she still has a lot left to give on the court.

McCoughtry Defies Age Like LeBron James

McCoughtry takes inspiration from NBA superstar LeBron James, who is approaching his 40th birthday and still performing at an elite level. "LeBron is almost 40, and he's still one of the best players in the world," McCoughtry told TMZ Sports.

She also believes that advancement in sports science and recovery technology can elongate the life of an athlete's career.

"I just know I still have some left in me to help a team and I'm ready to get out there and have some fun. I'm in some of the best shape of my life. People keep mentioning age but what is age? It's just a number."

"When you invest in your body, like LeBron, and with today's technology, you can play until you're 50 if you want to," she added.

A Leader On and Off the Court

Going beyond mere physical preparedness, McCoughtry also wants to share her many years of experience with other younger ladies in the league. When compared to such NBA stars as Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, she noted leadership was the essential factor:

"That's what players like Kobe and Jordan did—they weren't afraid to be leaders," McCoughtry said. Her dedication to mentoring younger athletes is yet another reminder of why she remains valuable to a team.

Women in Sports

McCoughtry also has ambitions beyond the hardwood. She is working on a project with producer Shane Farley to bring their stories and achievements to life.

"It's time for you to get to know these amazing women," she declared.

Ready for the Next Chapter

With determination, fitness, and leadership skills, Angel McCoughtry has the potential to make it big both off and on the court. As she readies up for returning to the WNBA, fans and the aspiring player have a great deal in store for their eyes.

Age is but just a number when it comes to McCoughtry for she knows that she has a new mission to help people who want to learn basketball.
