Three weeks through the WNBA season and the biggest names in this year's draft class have already made an impact.

Caitlin Clark, on the 1-7 Indiana Fever, has been showcasing her skills and reminding us of the star she was at Iowa.

Angel Reese has only gotten better throughout her journey with the Chicago Sky.

And Kate Martin and Jacy Sheldon have looked promising in small roles for their prospective teams, the Aces and Wings.

But no player has shined quite like Cameron Brink.

The No.2 overall pick in 2024 is turning heads so far this season through her stellar play, capturing the attention of WNBA and NBA fans alike.

Brink is living up to the reputation as an elite defensive stalwart and could likely get a lot of consideration for WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in her rookie season.

Throughout her first six games, the former Naismith Defensive Player of the Year has already been the focal point of Los Angeles Sparks' defense.

Brink is currently leading the league in blocks with an impressive average of 3.0 blocks per game and contributing with 1.2 steals per game as well.

Cameron Brink has been a jaw-dropping player in each game so far thanks to her impressive shot-blocking ability and defensive instinct, which had made her such a threat during her time at Stanford.

In this playstyle, she seems to resemble San Antonio Spurs rookie star Victor Wembanyama on defense.

Both are lanky, tall defenders who have a great knack for protecting the rim.

They are both extremely versatile on defense, able to guard any position, anywhere on the court.

Wembanyama's unique defensive ability led him to finish second in the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year voting in his rookie season, as Brink could possibly follow in the same direction in hers.

As unique as Brink is on defense, she still has a ways to go offensively.

Brink so far has managed to average 10.5 points per game in her rookie campaign.

She had an eye-opening 21-point performance against the Dallas Wings over the weekend, but she does need to keep improving.

The Sparks need to be better at feeding her good looks and she needs to be more aggressive, whether it be in the paint or perimeter.

Cameron Brink can thrive in the pick-n-roll as a roller, but needs to develop the mid-range jumper to be lethal in pick-n-pop situations.

Overall, Brink has a long way to go but what she has shown so far should be promising for the Los Angeles Sparks and WNBA fans as a whole.
