The viral moment involving former Philadelphia Eagles superstar Jason Kelce spread online. In the video, he smashed up the phone of a Penn State fan who insulted his brother, Travis.

Since then, he has been praised and criticized, but former NBA player Rashad McCants says he stands completely behind Kelce's actions.

As per TMZ, McCants says how the Eagles legend handled the unruly fan who insulted Travis during a heated confrontation over the weekend.

Kelce's reaction to smashing a fan's phone on the pavement over an incident has brought mixed responses. Critics say he overreacted in mentioning the homophobic slurs hurled at his brother were repeated.

Proponents believe Kelce was justified in doing so because of the heckling. Former North Carolina Tar Heels star McCants does not think there's anything wrong with Kelce's response because the heckler should count himself lucky it did not go any further.

McCants Looks at Heckler as the Triggering Individual

McCants believes the heckler is the trigger that set Kelce, telling the world, "Somebody is using an F-slur about his brother. You can't select and choose who you become the victim." The Department of Law Enforcement is identifying the heckler, though no one can identify a man.

McCants Weighs In on Possible Legal Action

When asked if the fan might take legal action over his broken phone, McCants dismissed the idea, saying, "Justice will prevail." He added that we live in a "new type of justice" where fans should think twice before provoking high-profile athletes.

"Athletes aren't 'normal' people," he said, advising the public to avoid antagonizing them.

For those who don't know McCants, he was a former guard of Minnesota Timberwolves. However, he only spent four seasons in the NBA.

Back in September, he told Gil's Arena that Steve Nash as the "craftiest player" in NBA history.

Kelce Apologizes for His Actions

After others like McCants supported Kelce, he finally said publicly that he was not so proud of what he has done on ESPN's "Monday Night Countdown."
