Before the "Monday Night Countdown" on ESPN started its usual pre-game analysis, Jason Kelce took a little time to talk about his recent incident with a fan at Penn State. The video of Kelce responding to a fan who insulted his brother, Travis Kelce, with a homophobic slur quickly spreads online as he approaches the individual and smashes their phone.

A homophobic slur that a fan hurled at Jason Kelce's brother Travis about Taylor Swift received much attention due to the reaction of Jason Kelce.

TMZ reports that the video clip included Jason turning around and confronting the fan, visibly furious, then taking the fan's phone, which was said to be recording the episode, and smashing it into pieces. Kelce responded to the derogatory comment much to the liking of so many, and they started online discussions about it.

"Hey Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f----- dating Taylor Swift," the fan said in the video.

Apology on 'Monday Night' Countdown

Before the Chiefs played the Buccaneers at Arrowhead Stadium, "Monday Night Countdown" host Scott Van Pelt opened the telecast talking about Kelce's apology for his action.

Kelce said he would treat others with more respect than he has used by himself, admitting he "had fallen short" of the Kelce standard.

"So, I think the bottom line is I try to live my life by the golden rule - it's what I've always been taught," he said. "I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I'm going to keep doing that moving forward, even though I fell short this week."

Fans Pour Support For Jason Kelce's Behavior

While there were mixed responses to Kelce's behavior, the people on social media mostly supported him, including former Team USA soccer player Taylor Twellman.

As seen by FoxNews, Twellman posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating that, more often than not, no one ever gets called out for the things they say when they make an offensive remark.

"People are gonna comment about Jason Kelce, but the point is there's no accountability for anything anyone says anymore," Twellman said, indicating how people have changed because of their phones and social media.

Follow-up on the 'New Heights' Podcast

Kelce said his brief apology on "Monday Night Countdown" wasn't the whole truth and may elaborate further on the podcast "New Heights" that he co-hosts with Travis. Previous vulnerability on "New Heights" could provide more insight.

"Listen, I'm not happy with anything that took place. I'm not proud of it, and in a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don't think that's a productive thing. I really don't. "

Jason has always been loyal to his brother in the season, from the emotional conversations captured on the podcast as he motivated Travis to rise above the criticism after a challenging season start. Indeed, blood is thicker than water.
