The Golden State Warriors' Chris Paul-Steph Curry experiment last season failed, and now they are letting go of the Point God.
CP3 is a talent that cannot be wasted, which is why he instantly found a new team in the San Antonio Spurs, which 2024 super rookie Victor Wembanyama leads.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported that CP3 signed with the Spurs for $11 million for one season.
People now imagine the heights Spurs can reach with Wemby having an intelligent player in CP3.
CP3 joined the Warriors last season from a three-team trade with the Phoenix Suns and the Washington Wizards, but his time with the Dubs did not bear any good fruit, primarily due to his injury issues.
The Bay Area franchise waived the 12-time All-Star, which means they will not get anything in exchange for him.

According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Chicago Bulls tried to ship Zach Lavine to the Warriors in exchange for CP3 and forward Andrew Wiggins.
However, Paul wanted to test the market, and that's when the Warriors waived him.
"To give some context and background real quick on what happened to Chris Paul; they wanted to see if it could work. Chris Paul tried to push the guarantee date back again, give them [Warriors] more time. Chris Paul just can't be. . . [Warriors] 'We're not amenable to that'," Haynes said.
He added that Warriors did not feel that was an adequate package, so the deal fell through, and they promptly waived CP3.

The Warriors Steph Curry era's window is getting shorter, and they are a team that cannot afford to be patient anymore. They need to win now.
They had a lot of issues last season they needed to fix. They need to get younger.
CP3 might still be serviceable for other teams, but he is better off having the ball in his hands and calling plays.
Steph Curry needs someone who is also a threat from the 3-point line to keep the defense in check and free him up a little more while he tries to find his spot.
As much as it hurts to say, the Warriors didn't need Chris Paul anymore.
With Klay Thompson set to leave the Warriors, ending the once-mighty Dub Dynasty, Dunleavy needs to find players who complement Curry's game.

Wembanyama showed that he is the future in just his first season, and the future might be months from now after they acquired CP3.
CP3 unlocked the potential of the centers he played with. There was Tyson Chandler during his time with his first team, the New Orleans Hornets. When he moved to the Los Angeles Clippers, DeAndre Jordan became an All-Star.
DeAndre Ayton's most productive years were when he played alongside CP3 with the Phoenix Suns.
Wemby managed to put staggering numbers despite not having an All-Star level point guard to play with. CP3 can send him to greater heights.
It will not be surprising if the Spurs reach the playoffs in the 2024-2025 season. Western Conference teams should also watch out, as this team could also be a legitimate contender for the title. They just need more pieces to complement their PG and star player.
