The New York Knicks are adding another former Villanova Wildcats star to their roster, joining key players Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, and Josh Hart, all of whom also played for the university.

The Knicks have agreed in principle to a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets, which would see them acquire wing Mikal Bridges and a 2026 second-round pick, according to league insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

In return, the Nets would get small forward Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027, 2029, 2031), a 2025 protected first-round pick from Milwaukee, a 2028 unprotected pick swap, and a 2025 second-round pick.

This trade would reunite Bridges with his former college teammates Brunson, Hart, and DiVincenzo, who all played together for two full seasons in 2015-16 and 2016-17, winning the national title in 2016.

Bridges, Brunson, and DiVincenzo played for the Pennsylvania-based school from 2015 to 2018. Hart, who was older, left a year earlier after playing from 2013 to 2017, missing out on the team's 2018 national title, which the remaining three won.

Villanova stars react to blockbuster trade

Villanova reacted to the deal by posting on its X account, "Our guys back together [peace sign]."

Meanwhile, three of the four players were in disbelief and had varied reactions upon learning about the blockbuster trade, while all of them immediately went into a video call.
