NBA legend Carmelo Anthony shared a great story about the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on the latest episode of his "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast.

Speaking with his guest, former Lakers and current New York Knicks star Julius Randle, the 40-year-old lethal scorer recalled an instance during the Team USA tryouts for the 2008 Summer Olympics involving Bryant and newly appointed Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick.

"I remember Kobe couldn't stand JJ Reddick. The moral of the story, Kobe took it personal against JJ Redick in practice because he got tired of Coach K talking about JJ Redick. Kobe took it very, very personal to the point where he was running through screens in practice," the ten-time NBA All-Star said.

Redick was a longtime player under then Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski during his college basketball tenure at Duke University.

"He was denying JJ the ball. Fouling the s**t out of JJ. I'm like, why are you treating the young boy like that?," Anthony added.

JJ Redick did not make it to the final Team USA roster

Unfortunately, Redick wasn't able to make the final cut of the Team USA roster that went on to compete and win the gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Meanwhile, Bryant became the leader of the star-studded team as captain, helping them defeat Spain in the gold medal game 118-107.

Redick was not able to play in a major tournament for Team USA for the rest of his career, while Bryant went on to win one more Olympic gold medal in the next Summer Olympics in 2012 in London.
