The Chicago Bulls have been attempting to trade star Zach LaVine for nearly a year but have not yet succeeded.

With the 2024 NBA Draft looming this week, the team still attempts to unload the two-time NBA All-Star shooting guard.

According to team insider K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports, the Bulls have floated as many as 15 trade proposals involving LaVine to several NBA teams, including the Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers, to no avail.

Despite this, the Bulls still engage in active trade talks with the Jazz and Sixers.

LaVine signed a five-year supermax contract extension worth $215 million in 2022, which will pay him $43.03 million in the 2024-25 season.

The 29-year-old's expensive contract could be a deterrent for teams, especially since he played only 25 games in the 2023-24 season due to persistent injury issues, culminating in season-ending surgery on his right foot in February 2024, just before the trade deadline.

Bulls' asking price for Zach LaVine has dropped

The Bulls' initial expensive asking price for the two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion could be one reason they haven't been able to part ways with him.

Chicago wanted either one of two packages: an excellent young player, multiple first-round picks, and salary filler, or one first-round pick and an established, high-end player.

However, with no team biting on the deal, the Bulls could be willing to consider a salary dump trade moving forward.
