Los Angeles Sparks rookie sensation Cameron Brink's debut season has been cut short after just 15 games.

The former Stanford Cardinal star sustained a torn ACL in her left knee during their game against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, June 18, at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

"You never think it will happen to you. And despite all the hard work sometimes it does. This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger. I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life," the 22-year-old posted on social media platform Instagram.

"I'm not defined by basketball, but it is something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it. It's not goodbye basketball it's just a see you later. I'm always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers," she added.

Aside from likely missing the remainder of her rookie season in the WNBA, Brink will also miss the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris next month.

She was set to represent Team USA for the 3x3 women's basketball event alongside Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard, former LSU and current TCU guard Hailey Van Lith, and former WNBA player Cierra Burdick.
