Shaquille O'Neal shared his thoughts on the ongoing debates about whether Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown is the Boston Celtics' best player.

The Hall of Famer spoke about his experiences with such situations during his peak years with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"In my Laker runs, I wasn't the best player on the team. I knew that, but I knew I was the most dominant. So, I knew my role. I knew what I had to do. I wasn't worried about these useless titles," the 52-year-old stated.

The big man is referring to his partner Kobe Bryant as the best player during their three-peat, despite O'Neal winning all three NBA Finals MVP awards during that run.

O'Neal's comments came after Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said Jaylen Brown is the best player on the Celtics.

"So if those two young gentlemen are worried about useless titles, who's the best on the team, whose team it is, it will definitely affect them tonight... Not only affect this game, but they will lose the series," O'Neal added.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown respond to talks about the Celtics' best player

Meanwhile, Tatum and Brown responded to Kidd's claim by remaining unfazed.

"We've been in this position for many years, of guys trying to divide us and say that one of us should be traded, or one is better than the other. So it's not our first time at the rodeo," Tatum said.

Brown echoed his teammate's sentiments, stating they have focused highly on their roles and responsibilities.
