Several more details of world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler's arrest last month during the PGA Championship have emerged.

The 27-year-old was arrested on the morning of Friday, May 17, 2024, near the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, while on his way to Day 2 of the 2024 PGA Championship for reportedly assaulting a police officer and defying orders to stop his vehicle amid a traffic accident.

Photos of the injuries sustained by the police officer he assaulted have emerged, showing a slight series of wounds on the officer's left knee as well as ripped pants, which were noted in the police report to cost $80.

In addition, a photo of the golfer standing alone, as well as another showing a wound on the police officer's left wrist just above his watch, has also surfaced.

Charges against Scottie Scheffler dropped

Charges against the two-time Masters Tournament winner were eventually dropped on May 29 after both Scheffler and the Louisville Metro Police Department ultimately decided not to pursue legal action.

"Mr Scheffler's characterisation that this was a big misunderstanding is corroborated by the evidence," according to Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell.

Scheffler eventually finished the 2024 PGA Championship tournament, tied for 8th place.
