One of the San Francisco 49ers' key players is set to enter offseason workouts healthier.
Tight end George Kittle, who played in almost every regular season game last season, revealed that he was battling a core muscle injury for most of the season.
The 30-year-old stated that he picked up the injury around Weeks 9 to 10 and coped with it for the rest of the season, including their run at Super Bowl 58.
"We took some MRIs of it and some stuff didn't show up, so we weren't really entirely sure of what we were dealing with until I got the surgery, so that was a tough one," the former Iowa player said on Wednesday, May 29.

Kittle only missed one regular-season game last season, the Week 18 finale, due to rest. After undergoing off-season surgery, he is on track with his recovery.
"Coming along. Progressing as planned. The goal's to be back and ready for training camp and all signs point to I will be ready for training camp," the tight end added.
George Kittle still had a standout season despite injury
Despite dealing with an injury for most of last season, Kittle had a standout campaign.
Kittle recorded 65 catches for 1,020 yards and scored six touchdowns in 16 games.
He was also named First Team All-Pro for the second time in his career and made the Pro Bowl for the fifth time.
