Star golfer Scottie Scheffler can now focus more on the sport after his arrest during a PGA tour was finally put to rest.

A video of Scheffler getting arrested, handcuffed, and booked for a mugshot made the rounds online last May 17.

The arrest happened hours before he appeared at the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.

It was later reported that he was arrested for traffic violations on a road where a pedestrian death had occurred hours before.

He was still able to return to the golf course and shoot 66 and finished in eighth place in the tournament.

He was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.

The officer was reportedly hurt by his actions.

No corroborative evidence for his violations

All is well now for the 27-year-old golf star, as prosecutors did not find enough evidence to charge him.

The court explained that there was not enough element for it to qualify as a criminal offense.

"Based upon the totality of the evidence, my office cannot move forward in the prosecution of the charges filed against Mr. Scheffler," County Attorney Mike O'Connell said Wednesday in court.

"Mr. Scheffler's characterization that this was, quote, a 'big misunderstanding,' close quote, is corroborated by the evidence."

Before this, the arresting officer, identified as Detective Bryan Gillis, was reportedly reprimanded for not turning on his bodycam.
