The Raiders defeated the Chargers 63-21.

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell made an appearance on veteran teammate and edge rusher Maxx Crosby's "The Rush" podcast to share a bit of himself with fans.

The second-year signal-caller was asked several questions by the three-time Pro Bowl selection, including his motivation to play in the NFL, to which O'Connell proudly cited his Christian faith to "glorify God."

"I think He has put me in this position for a reason even though I didn't think I'd get to this position. I'm obviously here for a reason to give glory to His name in success and failure. I think that's definitely my number one," the 25-year-old said.

The Illinois native was a fourth-round selection by the Raiders with the 135th overall pick last year, and he was not expected to start.

However, with Jimmy Garoppolo going down with an injury in early October, O'Connell was subsequently made the starter for the rest of the season by November 1, where the team went 5-5 in the ten games he started.

O'Connell also revealed the quarterback he modeled his game after, and the list wasn't long.

"It was really just Tom Brady to me. That was really it. I've seen him a few times last year and it's crazy meeting the guy that I try to model my game after that I've been such a huge fan of for a long time," O'Connell stated.

The former Purdue player had a passer rating of 83.9 with 2,218 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions in 11 games during the 2023 NFL season.
