FOX Sports analyst Greg Olsen is adamant about becoming a top analyst in the future, even hinting at a major move if necessary.
The 39-year-old has been the network's No. 1 football analyst since the 2022 season, but he is set to step back with the arrival of NFL legend Tom Brady, who will assume his role.
Olsen discussed his aspirations and plans in the latest Front Office Sports podcast episode, "FOS Today."
"My aspirations are still to be a No. 1 analyst, whether it's at Fox or elsewhere... That will never change as long as I do this. I'm not just content to be there. I'm not just happy to have a seat," Olsen told podcast host Owen Poindexter.
Aside from moving down to the No. 2 team, Olsen will take a dramatic pay cut, earning just $3 million this year, compared to $10 million last season.
"I want the top seat, and I want that wherever that opportunity allows. And I'll never stop working for that. I feel more motivated for that now than ever," he added.
Greg Olsen wins major honor ahead of impending demotion
Despite his impending demotion, Olsen's work for the 2023 season was recognized.
The former NFL tight end won the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst on Tuesday, May 21.
Despite being relatively new to the role, Olsen has established himself as a top analyst. He joined FOX in 2020 after concluding his 14-season playing career in the NFL for the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, and Seattle Seahawks.
