The Dallas Mavericks may soon be adding firepower to their lineup.
Veteran power forward Maxi Kleber, who suffered an AC joint separation in his right shoulder during Game 6 of their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers on May 3, is on the brink of returning to action.
The German player was upgraded to questionable ahead of Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, May 28. The 32-year-old has ramped up his physical activity leading to the game.
Kleber averaged 4.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 43 games this season. He scored a playoff-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting, all three-pointers made, in Game 5 of their first-round series against the Clippers.

Maxi Kleber struggled with injuries in 2023-24
Kleber struggled with injuries during the 2023-24 regular season, only appearing in 43 out of 82 games.
He faced several minor injuries to his toe, nose, nasal area, knee, and back, which limited his action.
However, Kleber has provided crucial spacing and shooting for the Mavericks when healthy.
Kleber shares the same hometown, Würzburg, Germany, as franchise legend Dirk Nowitzki, and he has played for the team since 2017 after going undrafted in 2014.
