The Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves on the verge of elimination in the 2024 NBA playoffs after giving up the first three games of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns has not particularly shot well in the series, shooting a combined 15-of-54 from the field from Game 1 to 3.

Towns opened up about his struggles on the field, despite putting in the work to be ready for these moments.

"I've got to laugh. I'm putting up to 1,500 shots a day. Shot so well all playoffs, confidence extremely high. To be having these unfortunate bounces and these looks that are just not going in, it's tough. It's tough, for sure. Confidence-wise, you just gotta keep shooting," the 28-year-old told the media in a post-game interview.

Towns has also claimed in the past that he is the greatest big man shooter of all time, having won the 2022 Three-Point Contest. However, he has only shot 3-of-22 from long distance in the series versus the Mavericks, including 0-8 in Game 3.

TNT crew roasts Karl-Anthony Towns for 1500 shots a day claim

Meanwhile, the Inside the NBA crew of the TNT coverage, featuring former players Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and host Ernie Johnson, as well as guest host Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green, were skeptical of Towns' claim of shooting 1,500 shots a day.

Smith then proceeded to explain the mathematics behind why he found Towns's claim of 1,500 attempts to be outrageous.

Barkley then remarked that Towns is doing the wrong thing if he is practicing 1500 threes a day, when the looks he's getting in a game are different.
