Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green discussed the fines imposed by the league for inappropriate behavior, a situation he has encountered several times in his career.

The four-time NBA champion made some remarks during a recent appearance on NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal's "The Big Podcast," stating that these fines do not benefit the players after the situation.

"The fines to me don't make sense. When you talk about as hard as we work to accumulate wealth, coming from situations that most people never make it out, and then you get fined the way we get fined, it's actually not set up for us to be wealthy after we're done playing," the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year stated.

Renowned for his fiery temper, Green has amassed a total of $2.2 million in fines and punishments for his on-court behavior during his 12-season career in the league.

Green also believes that the league's actual fines are excessive despite the multi-million dollar salaries of players.

"If I do something wrong, I lose $100,000. It took my mom four years when I was growing up to make $100,000. And I lose that in a night because what? The referee got mad at me, and he didn't like what I said to him. So I lose $5,000 like that? Like, on a tech?," the 34-year-old added.

The forward earned $206.9 million in NBA salary throughout his career before taxes and agent cuts.
