Being the son of arguably the greatest basketball player of all time is not easy, especially if you're trying to make a name for yourself in the same sport.

Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, shared his experience and delved into his decision-making process when declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft.

"It's tough. A lot of criticism gets thrown my way. But you know, I've got to deal with it. We all know what I've been through. I just try to make the best of my opportunities that are given to me," the 19-year-old admitted during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio on Monday, May 20.

James mentioned that he made the choice that would make him the happiest, which is declaring for the NBA Draft.

"I always want to end up where I'm happy most. Mom has always told me take me where my heart wants me to be. I just found happiness in what I'm doing right now and I feel like that's where I want myself to be at," James said.

Bronny James wasn't able to play a lot of football due to major reason

The former USC Trojan also shared that he played many sports as a kid, including soccer and occasionally football, but his mom, Savannah, disapproved of the latter for safety reasons.

In his freshman season with the USC Trojans, James averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game over 19.4 minutes, appearing in 25 games and starting in six.

His draft stock also improved after a solid showing at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, where scouts were impressed with his mentality and feel for the game.
