Tom Brady Roast on Netflix Suddenly an Unwanted Product: Why NFL Legend Won't Do It Again

"The Roast of Tom Brady" on Netflix was a hit, garnering up to 13.8M views in its first week.

While the numbers suggested people bought the show, don't expect the seven-time Super Bowl winner to subject himself to such heat again.

It is not because the jokes will get old or run out of material. It is because it rubbed the wrong way on his family, especially his kids.

Talking on an episode of "The Pivot Podcast," which aired Tuesday, he said he found the jokes about himself amusing but had a different feeling when the punchlines were about his kids already.

Brady has two kids with ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen.

Before the Victoria's Secret model, he had a son with actress Bridget Moynahan in 2007.

"I loved when the jokes were about me," he said.

"I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids. It's the hardest part about - the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way, and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way that it affected, actually, the people that I care about the most in the world."

He added that he lacked the foresight to sign up his family members when they agreed to do the show.

Tom Brady says he'll get better as a parent after the roast

Although he felt wrong about how the jokes were executed, he thought good things would come out of it.

He believes the lessons he learned from the backlash on the show made him realize things and will fuel him to become a better parent.

"It's a good lesson for me as a parent. I'm going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it," he explained.

"At the same time, I'm happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun. I do think for me, if we're not laughing about things, we're crying."
